Yanji Yangtze River Bridge in Hubei completes load testing—world's largest-span four-cable suspension bridge. It used 180 trucks (7,200t) and China's first AI visual dispatch system, processing 20,000+ data points with millimeter precision.
Recently, the Yanji Yangtze River Bridge in Hubei, constructed by CCCC, successfully completed its load test. Spanning Ezhou and Huanggang, this is the world's largest-span four-cable suspension bridge, leaping across the Yangtze River in a single span. It is also the world's first four-cable suspension bridge with cables of differing sag.
During the static load test, 180 heavy trucks, each weighing 40 tons, were simultaneously positioned on both the upper and lower decks, applying a total load of 7,200 tons to simulate extreme full-load conditions. The dynamic load test covered four scenarios to comprehensively assess the bridge's performance.
To ensure precision, the test was the first to apply China's independently developed AI visual command and dispatch system for bridge load testing, automatically collecting and processing over 20,000 critical data points. The inspection robots boosted data processing efficiency by 50% compared to manual work, with detection accuracy down to the millimeter level. The bridge is now one step closer to opening to traffic.
