At dusk, the mouth of the Pinglu Canal glows golden in the sunset. Mangroves stand lush and green, egrets return to their roosts, and along the seawall, locals stream by — some livestreaming, some cycling, some taking a leisurely stroll. What was once a neglected, overgrown riverbank has become a new scenic backdrop in the phones of Qinzhou residents.

Reconstructed by CCCC to meet a 50-year flood protection standard, this urban section of the seawall is not only a safety barrier but also a brand-new "road to happiness." From a barren dirt embankment to a 2.46-kilometer "corridor of well-being," the seawall has given villagers a "river-view home" — with upgraded flood protection, new jobs, and rising incomes.
