#GearupWithCCCC: Permanent double-wall steel anti-collision casing
Source:CCCCTime:2026-03-23
At the construction site of the Xiamen–Kinmen Bridge project undertaken by CCCC, a massive "invisible contact lens case" rests quietly in the sea—this is the largest and heaviest permanent double-wall steel anti-collision casing for a cross-sea bridge in China. Shaped like a dumbbell, it measures 105.8 meters in total length and weighs over 4,200 tons, covering an area equivalent to nine standard basketball courts.
Serving as the bridge's "invisible guardian," it effectively cushions ship impacts and prevents seawater from eroding the pile caps, providing the bridge with permanent "bulletproof armor." Precisely hoisted by the "ErhangZhuoyue," China's largest double-boom luffing crane vessel, this massive steel casing was installed as a single unit with construction errors controlled to the millimeter level. Let's take a closer look!
