"Don't set limits for yourself — dreams will eventually come true." This is the belief of Abraham, a freight train driver for Afristar.

Back in 2017, he was just a minibus driver working along the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). Every time a locomotive roared past, a dream was quietly ignited in his heart. When he saw the recruitment notice for train drivers, he signed up without hesitation and successfully entered the training program. From learning operations to understanding safety, respect, and responsibility, Abraham grew quickly under the guidance of Chinese mentors. Today, he can skillfully operate the "steel giants."

His transformation is not an isolated case. Over the past eight years, through systematic training, university-enterprise partnerships, and a mentorship system, Africa Star has trained over 20,000 local employees and cultivated more than 2,800 African railway professionals, with a Kenyan employee localization rate reaching 93.46%. Here, skills are passed down, and dreams are connected.
