In Kenya, the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) is not just a transportation artery, but also a starting point for countless dreams. Concilia, a girl from a remote village, broke free from traditional constraints and persistently pursued her "railway dream."
Under the careful mentorship of Chinese instructors, she studied diligently and endured rigorous training, eventually becoming one of the first female train drivers in East African history. Today, she serves as the Deputy Director of the Rolling Stock Department at Afristar.
This railway, constructed by CRBC, a subsidiary of CCCC, carries not only trains and passengers but also the futures of thousands of young Kenyans like Concilia. Her story is a vivid portrayal of courage, learning, and transformation.
