Recently, the Xianxin Road Crossing-river Channel in Nanjing, in which CCCC participated, completed the static and dynamic load test, laying a solid foundation for its full operation.
The project spans approximately 13.17 kilometers, linking Nanjing's Qixia District in the main urban area with Jiangbei New District and Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone. It combines a river-crossing bridge, the Wulong Mountain Tunnel, and approach bridges. The river-crossing bridge, a suspension bridge with a main span of 1,760 meters, sets a new record as the largest in China and the third-largest in the world.
The recent tests involved 120 heavy trucks with a total weight of about 4,200 tonnes. Once completed, the travel time between Qixia Avenue and Jiangbei Avenue will be reduced from 1 hour to 10 minutes, significantly alleviating cross-river traffic junctions in the Yangtze River Delta region.
