Recently, the steel truss girder of the closure segment of the main channel bridge, part of the world's largest span cable-stayed bridge, constructed by CCCC, successfully fits in place, officially beginning the closure process of the entire bridge. This mega bridge, which integrates expressways, intercity railways, and highways, features a double-deck design and an asymmetrical structure. It has set world records for the largest span cable-stayed bridge, the largest span road-rail steel truss arch bridge, and the longest continuous steel truss girder.

The success of this operation was made possible by advanced technology and equipment, including a 2,500-tonne large floating crane and China's largest 1,800-tonne double main truss girder bridge deck crane, specially designed for this project. Additionally, a digital twin platform based on BIM technology ensured the safety and precision of the construction process. The bridge is scheduled for completion in the first half of 2025, and it is expected to significantly promote the integration of the Yangtze River Delta and the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
