Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station wins award for social and environmental management, dam safety

Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vientiane Province, Laos, presented the Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station, invested in and operated by CWE, with an award for outstanding social and environmental management and dam safety.

Recently, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vientiane Province, Laos, presented the Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station, invested in and operated by CWE, with an award for outstanding social and environmental management and dam safety, recognizing its achievements over the past 15 years in safety management, standardized operations and maintenance, watershed ecological conservation, social and environmental management, and coordinated local development.

Located in Mueang Feuang County, Vientiane Province, the Nam Lik 1-2 Hydropower Station has a total installed capacity of 100 MW and began commercial operation in August 2010. It not only supplies stable power to the central grid centered on Vientiane, the capital, but is also one of the few key hydropower stations in Laos with multi-year regulation capacity.
