On May 29, the first train of Bogota Metro Line 1 completed its inaugural mainline test, marking a new phase in construction and laying a solid foundation for future operations.

On May 29, the first train of Bogota Metro Line 1 completed its inaugural mainline test, marking a new phase in construction and laying a solid foundation for future operations.
The train traveled from Station 1 to Station 2, allowing guests to experience firsthand its smooth ride, comfort and modern features.
Speaking to the media, Bogota mayor Carlos Fernando Galán praised the project's progress, saying Metro Line 1 will not only transform the city's transportation system but also improve the lives of millions of residents. He added that Bogota's decades-long dream of having a metro is finally close to becoming a reality.
As the city's first metro line, the 23.96-kilometer route will use fully automated GOA4 driverless technology. Once operational, it is expected to serve approximately 2.9 million residents.
The project is now nearly 78 percent complete.

Notably, the Mayor's Office of Bogota changed the profile pictures of its three social media accounts to a metro-themed logo and updated their cover images with photos from the train test.
