ZPMC supports Colombo West International Terminal in surpassing 1 million TEUs

Officially commissioned on February 27, 2025, the Colombo West International Terminal is Sri Lanka's first automated terminal.

The Phase 1 of the automated Colombo West International Terminal in Sri Lanka, equipped by ZPMC, has reached a key milestone, with container throughput exceeding 1 million TEUs.
Officially commissioned on February 27, 2025, the Colombo West International Terminal is Sri Lanka's first automated terminal and one of the largest and deepest container terminals in South Asia, with a designed annual handling capacity of approximately 3.2 million TEUs.
For Phase 1, ZPMC supplied eight ship-to-shore cranes, 18 automated rail-mounted gantry cranes, and a full set of intelligent control systems, supporting efficient terminal operations. For Phase 2, the company is providing an additional six ship-to-shore cranes and 16 automated rail-mounted gantry cranes, further enhancing operational capacity and overall efficiency.
