On November 25, ZPMC delivered 24 pieces of port equipment to the Red Sea Container Terminal (RSCT) at Sokhna Port, Egypt, supporting the country's first fully automated container terminal.
The delivery includes six ship-to-shore cranes and 18 automated rubber-tyred gantry cranes with high performance and intelligent features. The RTGs use a hybrid power system, enabling zero-emission green operations.
The RSCT has a 2,600-meter quay and covers 1.6 million square meters. Once complete, it will be Egypt's largest container terminal, handling up to 3.5 million TEUs annually and accommodating vessels up to 400 meters long.
As a key hub linking the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, Sokhna Port will use these advanced facilities to strengthen logistics connections between East-West trade routes.
The project is expected to generate over 2,000 direct and indirect jobs and attract international investment by significantly improving port efficiency.
