Recently, the "Tong Jun," a new-generation ultra-large trailing suction hopper dredger manufactured by CCCC, has successfully completed all sea trials, marking this Asian-leading and world-second dredging heavyweight as ready for official operation.
As China's first independently designed and built 35,000-cubic-meter-class ultra-large trailing suction hopper dredger, the "Tong Jun" boasts a maximum hopper capacity of 38,168 cubic meters, making it the world's first dredger to receive the International Maritime Organization's intelligent dredging ship class notation.
During the sea trials, its two 9,000-kilowatt dredge pumps achieved an ultra-long discharge distance of 12 kilometers. The dredging volume of the vessel in a single operation could fill a standard football field to a depth of 5 meters. The vessel also realized intelligent control across the entire process, from precise navigation to efficient dredging, showcasing the global leading position of Chinese dredging equipment.
