The completion and commissioning of these key facilities will enable the airport to handle an annual passenger throughput of 120 million and cargo and mail capacity of 3.8 million tons in the near term, with ultimate capacity reaching 140 million passengers and 6 million tons of cargo. This marks a significant step forward in supporting the open economy of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area.
