The right tube of the 3.5 km-long Iriški Venac tunnel, the Serbias longest highway tunnel, has been completed! Through eco-friendly construction, local training, and China-Serbia teamwork, the project was completed ahead of schedule.
Recently, the right tube of the 3.5 km-long Iriški Venac tunnel, on the Novi Sad-Ruma Expressway, constructed by CRBC, was successfully completed.
During construction, Chinese and Serbian teams enhanced stability and efficiency through joint technical consultations and collaborative planning. Multiple rounds of environmental monitoring and the use of multi-stage sedimentation ponds ensured zero impact on the surrounding nature reserve. In addition, the project created nearly 100 jobs for locals and held 46 skill training sessions, cultivating a group of Serbian professionals proficient in advanced tunneling technologies.
Its left tunnel is now in the final stage of construction. Once completed, the tunnel will significantly shorten travel time through the nature reserve—from 30 minutes to just 5—forming a vital new transportation artery in northern Serbia.
