Recently, Ly Thuch, Senior Minister and Chairman of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific, noted in his address at the 7th of Business Convention of Industrial, Import Export, Logistics and Transportation Operators that the Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway, as Cambodia's first expressway, has injected strong momentum into the country's logistics system and holds significant strategic importance for improving cargo transport efficiency and enhancing regional connectivity.
During the conference's recognition segment, the Phnom Penh–Sihanoukville Expressway's operation company received a letter of appreciation from the event organizer, the Logistics and Supply Chain Business Association in Cambodia (LOSCBA).
Opened to traffic on October 1, 2022, the expressway has demonstrated robust growth. As of September 2025, overall annual traffic volume has increased by 12.47% on average, with heavy truck traffic up by 189.58% and Type E truck traffic up by 155.93% year-on-year.
