Recently, the Genting Tunnel of the ECRL, constructed by CCCC, successfully broke through, becoming the longest tunnel in Southeast Asia. With this achievement, all 41 tunnels of the project have now been fully connected.
The ECRL spans over 600 kilometers. The Genting Tunnel, located in the Titiwangsa Mountains, is a key control project of the ECRL. The tunnel stretches for 16.39 kilometers, with a maximum depth of over 750 meters.

Using self-developed tunnel boring machines Genting No. 1 and Genting No. 2, CCCC overcame the traditional construction bottlenecks for long tunnels by combining drilling and blasting techniques.
At the completion ceremony, Loke Siew Fook, Minister of Transport of Malaysia, delivered a speech, stating that the ECRL optimized the tunnel route to minimize the impact on ecosystems and natural habitats, achieving a balance between development and environmental conservation.
This railway will connect key towns along Malaysia's East Coast with economic powerhouse of the West Coast, boosting Malaysia's international trade.
