Several overseas projects have recently reported smooth progress.
Singapore's RTS T235 Project completes main line construction
This project is the world's first cross-sea, cross-border direct urban rail line, forming a key part of the cross-sea rail transit link connecting Singapore and Johor in Malaysia. The project includes the construction of a 730-meter-long, 25-meter-high mainline elevated bridge across the sea, as well as two 550-meter-long land tunnels and the relocation of auxiliary facilities. Upon completion, it will effectively alleviate traffic pressure between Singapore and Malaysia, enhancing connectivity between the two countries.
Asphalt surfacing of Cambodian National Road No. 1551 completed
The project team overcame significant challenges to complete the asphalt surfacing work before the onset of the rainy season, laying a solid foundation for the highway to be opened for traffic.
Burundi's National Road 16 passes final inspection
The upgrading project of Burundi's National Road 16 has passed its final inspection, marking the official opening of the road. The project, which covers 34.52 kilometers in length and 7 meters in width, is designed for a driving speed of 60 kilometers per hour. This newly upgraded road will greatly improve local infrastructure and promote economic and social exchanges between the Gitega and Bururi provinces.
Phase 3 of Ethiopia's Modjo-Hawassa Highway Project reaches nearly 80% completion
Local media, including EBC, EPA, and Fana TV, as well as the Ethiopian Roads Administration's website, recently conducted in-depth coverage of the Phase 3 of Modjo–Hawassa Highway Project. This highway is a vital transport corridor linking Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa, to the renowned tourist city of Hawassa. The media coverage has helped increase public awareness of the project, with many believing that its completion will inject new vitality into Ethiopia's economic and social development, bringing fresh opportunities for the country.
Kenya's Talanta Sports City progressing steadily
The Talanta Sports City project is located in Nairobi, Kenya. The project involves the construction of a FIFA-standard professional football stadium with a seating capacity of 60,000. It will host the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the matches of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2025.
