At the offshore solar farm project in Yantai, Shandong, CCCC's innovative floating intelligent platform is revolutionizing offshore photovoltaic (PV) construction, ensuring the precise and efficient installation of 3,756 steel pipe piles.
As China's first gigawatt-scale offshore solar project using pile foundations, the traditional approach would have required a piling vessel to move after driving each pile—an operation heavily dependent on a minimum water depth of 2.5 meters. However, given that this depth is available for only six to seven hours per day, progress would have been significantly constrained.
To overcome this challenge, the project team deployed a floating platform equipped with cranes, allowing for the simultaneous installation of four piles in a single move. Integrated with the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, the platform maintains an absolute positioning error within just 50 millimeters. Even under extreme weather conditions, it ensures stable and continuous operations.
