The opening of this project significantly improves transportation capabilities along Jamaica's southeastern coast.

Recently, the Part B Section of Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project in Jamaica was opened to traffic. Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica and nearly 300 others, including Jamaica's Minister of Transport, attended the ceremony.
Andrew Holness emphasized that the Southern Coastal Highway is not only a transportation corridor but also an economic and tourism corridor. He stressed that only by constructing this road well can the country achieve development goals.
The Southern Coastal Highway Improvement Project spans 163.5 kilometers, connecting the capital Kingston with important cities like Mandeville and Bull Bay. Construction includes roadbeds, road surfaces, bridges, traffic safety facilities, and electromechanical systems.
The opening of this project significantly improves transportation capabilities along Jamaica's southeastern coast, serving as a vital channel for economic linkage between the east and west coasts of Jamaica.
