CCCC contributes to the Maldives's path to prosperity

Since entering the Maldivian market in 2012, CCCC's projects have injected new vitality into the economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihood in the Maldives.

Recently, Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of CCCC, met with the visiting Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed in Beijing. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions regarding furthering practical cooperation.
Since entering the Maldivian market in 2012, CCCC has undertaken nearly twenty projects, including landmark projects like the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge and the Velena International Airport Expansion Project. These projects have injected new vitality into the economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihood in the Maldives.
China-Maldives Friendship Bridge
Designed and constructed by CCCC, the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge connects Malé Island, the airport island, and Hulhumalé Island. With a total length of 2 kilometers, the bridge was opened to traffic on August 30, 2018, fulfilling the Maldivian people's dream for a bridge. Over the past five years, the bridge has facilitated the travel of over a billion people, bringing transformative effects to the development and daily lives of the Maldivian people.
Velana International Airport Expansion Project
The project includes a new international terminal and an associated energy center with a total construction area of 78,000 square meters. Upon completion, it will significantly enhance the airport's passenger reception capacity, stimulate the development of the Maldivian tourism industry, and create tens of thousands of job opportunities.
Hotel Riu Palace Maldives
Designed and constructed by CCCC, the Hotel Riu Palace Maldives is a four-star hotel with a modern and Italian-inspired design. Completed in March 2019, the hotel consists of approximately 420 rooms, an 8,000-square-meter logistics area, and the development of green spaces, water supply, and power facilities on the entire hotel island.
IRUFEN Island Resort
Also designed and constructed by CCCC, the IRUFEN Island Resort is a four-star hotel located on Dhigurah Island, approximately 170 kilometers from Malé. With a total construction area of 72,000 square meters, the hotel features 14 different types of rooms, totaling 496 rooms.
Laamu Link Road Project
Designed by CCCC, the Laamu Link Road Project has a total length of 16.5 kilometers, connecting four adjacent islands with a two-lane road. The project fulfills the long-standing dream of the people in the atoll, making their lives more convenient and promoting regional economic and social development.
