People were able to watch the complete operation from suction to disposal of dredge spoil and land filling, and also visited the internal structure of the vessel.
On January 14, Tianjing or Sky Whale, a cutter-suction dredger built by CCCC, known as a mighty tool for island-building, was broadcast live in Ganyu District of Lianyungang Port, giving a special New Year gift to the global netizens.
The live broadcast received a total of 150 million views at home and abroad, with over 20 million people watching online. The broadcast was also posted on CCCC's Facebook account.
This was the first show of Tianjing since its trip to Africa in 2017. Tianjing represented the highest technological level of China's self-propelled suction dredgers in 2017.
Netizens were able to see this self-propelled suction dredger up close, and the cutters, praised by officials in Ghana as "the sharpest teeth in the world", were unveiled in the broadcast. People were able to watch the complete operation from suction to disposal of dredge spoil and land filling, and also visited the internal structure of the vessel to get an all-round understanding of Sky Whale and to feel the Chinese wisdom and power.
