Recently, the Tibar Bay port, the largest infrastructure project in Timor-Leste since the establishment of the country, constructed by CRBC, a subsidiary of CCCC, was officially launched.
The project started on August 30, 2018, and the construction includes a 630-meter quay, including one berth able to handle 7,000 TEU and one berth able to handle 3,500 TEU, 3.5 million square meters of dredging, 27 hectares of land reclamation as well as houses, yards and other supporting facilities.
After the project is put into operation, the former Dili Port of Timor-Leste will be transformed into a marina, and the new Tibar Bay port will become the only logistics center for maritime cargo and trade in Timor-Leste. The project will greatly enhance the cargo handling capacity of the Timor-Leste and play a key role in relieving traffic congestion and promoting the economic and social development of Timor-Leste.
With help of the good momentum as the port's launching, the project team will make further efforts to ensure the smooth completion and handover of the project by the end of November.
