On July 17, with the landing of the first cargo plane, the Ezhou HuaHu Airport, the fourth professional cargo hub airport in the world and the first of its kind in Asia, was officially put into operation, accelerating the formation of a international logistics hub in Hubei Province.

As a key project for building a international logistics hub in Hubei Province, Ezhou Huahu Airport is designed to serve an annual passenger throughput of one million visits and a cargo and mail throughput of 2.45 million tonnes in 2025. The airport's operation and security level is 4E, with a cargo transfer center of nearly 700,000 square meters, a terminal building of 15,000 square meters, and 124 parking stands. Besides cargo flights, the airport also provides passenger flight services.

With its 1.5-hour flight circle reaching 90% of the country's economy circle and 24-hour flight circle reaching major cities in the world, the airport have made Wuhan to have two airports.

In addition to the airport, CCCC also invested and built several supporting facilities for the air port.

SF Express and CCCC, as the partners of the project, jointly invested and built the air logistics industrial park. They will bring industries while building and making plans for the project.

The airport cannot be perfected without infrastructure facilities. In the optoelectronics industrial park invested by CCCC, 5 of the 16 municipal roads CCCC invested are being paved and 2 have been completed.

Currently the bridge is under construction, as the second river connecting Ezhou and Huanggang across the Yangtze River, it will expand the "hinterland" of the international logistics hub in Hubei Province and accelerate the construction of the aerotropolis economy zone of Wuhan city circle.

As an important supporting project of the airport, the project will build a water ecological environment featuring "harmonious coexistence between city and water" through new sluice gates, reclaimed farmland to lake, connecting the water system, etc., to improve the flood control and drainage capacity of Huama Lake, so that the flood control capacity of the airport can reach a 100-year level, and the airport's safe operation can be ensured.

The project includes a cultural center, an exhibition center, a sports center and parking lots, etc. The construction has already started.

The rapid promotion of these supporting projects will help to accelerate the formation of an international air logistics hub with Ezhou HuaHu Airport at the core, covering air cargo networks, comprehensive logistics systems and related supporting industrial systems with multimodal shipping.
