On May 21, the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link Project undertaken by CRBC was completed.
The two approach bridges of the Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link Project adopted prefabricated segmental beam designs. The project team creatively applied a new process of prefabricating segmented beams in Guangdong and transporting them to the construction site in Hong Kong for the overall installation. This not only greatly reduced the workload and risks of offshore operations, but also promoted safety and environmental protection, as well as demonstrated the advantages of cooperation and common development between Hong Kong and Guangdong.
The Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Link Project is located in Sai Kung District, Hong Kong, with a total length of about 1.8 kilometers and is designed as a two-way two-lane carriageway. The main bridge structure of the bridge is a floating butterfly steel arch bridge with a span of 200 meters and a deck width of 35.8 meters. After the project is opened to traffic, it will be another landmark large-scale sea-crossing bridge in Hong Kong following the Tsing Ma Bridge and Stonecutters Bridge, providing quick access to and from the city center in the southeastern area of Tseung Kwan O, benefiting the local people.
