Recently, in order to help a one-year-old child to get medical treatment due to a sudden illness, there was an emergency stop on the way of the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway.
At 23:38 local time on April 18, the Kenya Mombasa-Nairobi Railway Train Dispatching Center received information that a child about one year old in the No. 5 carriage of the E3 passenger train had a sudden illness and needed to stop for medical treatment. The dispatch center immediately activated the emergency plan, changed the E3'soriginally scheduled pass station to a temporary stop, and notified Voi Station at first time, as well as contacted the local hospital to arrange an ambulance. The E3 passenger train stopped at Voi Station at 23:45. After the patient got off the train, he was immediately transferred to the waiting ambulance and sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. Due to timely rescue, the sick child's health was in no danger.
This emergency response reflects the Mombasa-Nairobi railway operator's ability to quickly respond to emergencies, and it is also a vivid practice of its passenger service concept of putting life first and serving passengers.
