"Junhai 1" started on February 12 and completed the dredging and clearing of the port basin after 10 days. Subsequently, the Project Department increased the frequency of inspection of dredging materials in the port basin to once per ship to ensure that the specifications of the backfill in the reclamation stage meet the contract requirements.
The dredging and reclamation project at the East Wharf of the Port of Colombo will further promote local economic development.
