Recently, the access channel for ships in the dredging project of Lake Ahémé in Benin, which was contracted by China Harbour Engineering Co., Ltd. designed by CCCC Water Transportation Consultants Co., Ltd., and subcontracted by CCCC Tianjin Dredging Co., Ltd., was successfully completed. The project is located in the southwest of Benin, and the access channel is located on the southwest side of the project dredging area, which is the only channel for construction ships to enter the dredging area of Lake Ahémé from the Atlantic Ocean. The main construction work is the dredging of the Lake Ahémé and river channels, including lagoon dredging of about 8.3 million cubic meters, road improvement, mangrove planting, footbridges and wharfs. Upon completion, the project will significantly improve the quality of Lake Ahémé and its surrounding ecosystems, promote the sustainable development of local fisheries, and improve local people’s lives.
