On January 10, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic inspected the Peljesac Bridge project, which was led by China Road and Bridge Corporation and constructed by a consortium formed by CCCC Second Highway Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., CCCC Highway Consultant Co., Ltd., and other units. Oleg Butkovic, Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of Croatia and other cabinet members participated in the event.

After listening to the report on the overall construction and construction progress of the bridge, Plenkovic inquired about the construction of the bridge deck and auxiliary installation in detail. He expressed his satisfaction with the construction progress of the bridge and extended his regards to the project builders. Plenkovic emphasized that the Peljesac Bridge is an extremely important part of realizing the connection of Croatian transportation, and it will connect the northern and southern territories of Croatia into a whole. The bridge has been successfully joined at the end of July 2021, and will play an important role when the peak season of the summer arrives this year, and will effectively relieve regional traffic pressure and promote economic development along the route.

The total length of the Peljesac Bridge is 3.94 kilometers, of which the bridge is 2,440 meters long. The main bridge is a six-tower central single-cable-plane steel box girder and low-tower cable-stayed bridge. This project is the largest transportation infrastructure construction project implemented by a Chinese-funded enterprise since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Croatia, and it is a national key livelihood project since the founding of Croatia.
