Recently, the opening ceremony for the Yuli-35th Regiment and 35th Regiment-Ruoqiang sections of the G0711 expressway was held in the Ruoqiang expressway service area of Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang.
The projects of the G0711 Yuli-35th Regiment and 35th Regiment-Ruoqiang expressways are two sub-projects of the Wuwei Expressway PPP project implemented by CCCC.
The expressway package project consists of three lines and five sub-projects, with a total length of 1,305 kilometers. It is currently the largest PPP project under construction in China. The Yuli-35th Regiment section starts from the northeast of Yuli County, and ends at the southeast of the 34th Regiment headquarters, connecting the starting point of the 35th Regiment-Ruoqiang section of the G218, with a total length of 167.87 kilometers. The 35th Regiment-Ruoqiang section starts 15 kilometers south of the 34th Regiment and connects the Ruoqiang-Minfeng section of the G315, whose main line has a total length of 189.5 kilometers. Interchanges are built at the end of expressway. Each of the main lines of the above sections has four lanes, two in both directions, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour.
In building the project, builders of CCCC overcame many difficulties such as harsh weather and poor geological conditions, and completed the construction 10 months ahead of schedule. The opening of the expressways will greatly improve the transportation capacity of the road network in southern Xinjiang, and will play an important role in strengthening the land passage between China and Central Asia and South Asia. It will promote economic and social development and improve people's livelihood in southern Xinjiang, and help realize long-term social stability in Xinjiang.
