Recently, the CHEC-built Qingmao border checkpoint linking Zhuhai city, Guangdong Province and Macau has opened to public.

The Qingmao checkpoint is located on the Yayong River adjacent to the Gongbei Border Gate in Zhuhai, Guangdong, with a total construction area of about 28,000 square meters. During construction, the project team strictly abided by the laws, regulations and related requirements of Guangdong and Macau, stepped up coordination and communication with relevant parties, and completed every project task on schedule, ensuring the delivery of the project.

As a major cross-border project related to people's livelihood of Guangdong and Macau, the Qingmao checkpoint providing self-service channels for passengers will adopt a customs clearance mode known as "joint inspection and one-time release" following the same mode used by the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge Port and the new Hengqin Port. With 100 automated channels for clearance, the 24-hour checkpoint was designed to withstand the daily capacity of 200,000 passengers. The checkpoint is directly connected to the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Rail Line, making it convenient for Macau residents to travel to other parts of the country after arriving at the Zhuhai Rail station through the checkpoint. It has injected new impetus to improving the cooperation between Guangdong and Macau and promoting the development of the Greater Bay Area in all respects.
