The bridge has received more than 100 awards at home and abroad for its innovative design and construction techniques. It was named Hong Kong's most popular infrastructure project of the past 25 years and was nominated for China's "Top Ten Most Beautiful Bridges" for the 2020-2025 period.

The bridge stands out for three key features.

1. Green, sustainable and innovative design

The project uses high strength S690 steel and forward-looking structural design. Its commitment to green and sustainable construction earned it the ICE Brunel Medal, making it a model of green engineering and innovative construction.

2. Diverse travel options

The 1.8-kilometer bridge integrates a carriageway, a pedestrian path and a cycle track, meeting both urban commuting needs and residents' recreational and fitness needs.

3. Distinctive architectural design

The bridge's unique double-arch steel structure resembles the infinity symbol (∞), with clean, elegant lines that make it instantly recognizable. With its distinctive architectural design and waterfront views, the bridge has become an iconic feature of Hong Kong's cityscape and a coastal engineering landmark recommended by the ICE.
