On the 8th anniversary of the opening of the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu visited the China-Maldives Everlasting Friendship Park in the capital Male, where the bridge is located, to review its operation and achievements over the past eight years.
Muizzu posted on social media to warmly congratulate the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge on its 8th anniversary. He said the bridge is not only a key piece of infrastructure connecting the Greater Male Region, but also a landmark project symbolizing the friendly cooperation between the two countries.

The China-Maldives Friendship Bridge officially opened to traffic on Aug. 30, 2018, ending the Maldives' history without a sea-crossing bridge. It established a direct road link between Male, Hulhumale and Velana International Airport, greatly facilitating local travel and providing strong impetus for urban development and coordinated regional economic growth in the Maldives.
