Located in Chattogram, Bangladesh's largest port city, the zone is close to Chattogram Port, the Karnaphuli Tunnel, and Shah Amanat International Airport, giving it significant transportation and logistics advantages.
The zone is jointly invested in and developed by China Road and Bridge Corporation and the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and is one of Bangladesh's key economic zones.
Covering a planned area of 314 hectares, the zone will focus on developing key industries including textiles and apparel, machinery manufacturing, electronic information, biomedicine, and green energy, aiming to become a modern, internationally competitive integrated industrial hub.
The zone will help strengthen Bangladesh's industrial and supply chains, expand export capacity, and create jobs. Once operational, it is expected to generate more than 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.
