At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) in Shanghai, CCCC showcased a range of innovations, highlighting its leadership in integrating AI into the transportation sector.
The smart transportation exhibition zone, led by CCCC, brought together AI models, intelligent agents and high-quality datasets developed by more than 100 industry organizations, creating an open, shared AI collaboration platform for the transportation industry.
Among the highlights was CCCC's intelligent tunnel boring solution, which addresses common industry challenges such as complex geological analysis, limited construction precision and inefficient coordination across multiple construction processes. The technology can increase tunneling efficiency by more than 20 percent, keeps surface unevenness within 1 millimeter and improves the accuracy of geological hazard prediction by 30 percent. It has been deployed in major projects, including Beijing's subway line 22 and the Phase III expansion project of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, providing a standardized intelligent construction solution for mega tunnel boring projects.
CCCC also unveiled an integrated, high-quality dataset for the operation, maintenance and management of highway and waterway infrastructure across multiple asset types. Covering highways, bridges, tunnels, slopes, ports and marine engineering, the multimodal dataset provides a robust data foundation for AI-powered transportation. It has been applied in more than 100 scenarios, including intelligent highway inspection, AI-generated maintenance planning and service life prediction for marine infrastructure, improving maintenance and inspection efficiency by more than 30 percent.
