The Su Song Astronomical Museum in Xiamen, built by CCCC, will become the world's largest astronomical museum by floor area after it is completed. Through digital simulations, 1:1 assembly, and 10,886 custom panels, it blends tech and craft. A future cultural landmark.

The Su Song Astronomical Museum, built by CCCC, covers about 51,000 square meters and is set to become the world's largest astronomical museum by floor area. Its striking design features a "Möbius strip + suspended planet."

To create the "floating planet," the team first ran digital simulations, conducted 1:1 trial assemblies in the yard, and then used a 600-tonne crawler crane for pinpoint installation — a perfect lift from ground to sky.

Millimeter Connections: Each luminous segment of the Möbius strip was prefabricated on the ground, lifted 32 meters high, and then welded and assembled on site with millimeter-level precision — all without any supporting structure.

Tech-Driven Shaping: The facade required 10,886 custom panels, each with a unique size and curvature. Using 3D cloud scanning, the team installed them piece by piece, giving the building its elegant outer skin.

Once completed, the museum will be more than a multi-purpose astronomical hub — it will energize cultural tourism and educational study tours, becoming a new cultural landmark in Xiamen. Let's look forward to this romantic space under the stars, brought to life by CCCC's craftsmanship.
