The project highlighted corporate–community engagement in action.

Recently, Afristar organized a community mural activity under the theme "Railway Connects the Silk Road, Hearts Connect China and Kenya". Over the course of 23 days, young volunteers from CCCC, local artists from the Mathare community, and children painted 24 murals on the walls of the company's campus.
The project highlighted corporate–community engagement in action. The murals depict the railway's striking landscapes, modern stations, and its role in fostering cultural exchange, social development, and future railway technologies—rendered in vivid African artistic styles that have transformed the campus into a colorful landmark.
Children who took part said the experience not only gave them a chance to create art linked to the Mombasa-Nairobi Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), but also deepened their understanding of how the SGR is reshaping Kenya's economy, tourism, and cultural exchange.
CCCC has been present in Kenya for 41 years, delivering flagship projects such as the SGR and the Nairobi Expressway. Alongside infrastructure building, the company has made community development a priority: providing free school meals for 220 students at Hope Baptist School, running art workshops at the arts center in the Mathare community, and hosting open days for local schoolchildren to visit and ride the SGR to support local development.
The activity was covered by major media outlets including Xinhua News Agency, Daily Nation, The Standard, and The Star.
