Recently, the awards ceremony of the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Construction Robot Competition was held in Hong Kong, where two construction robots developed by CCCC won honors. The magnetic wall-climbing cleaning robot received the innovation star award, while the intelligent concrete compression testing robot won the design star award.
The magnetic wall-climbing cleaning robot delivers construction efficiency three times higher than traditional manual work, with a labor substitution rate of over 90%. It effectively addresses safety risks of high-altitude operations, low efficiency, and inconsistent quality associated with manual cleaning of steel formwork surfaces.
The intelligent concrete compression testing robot adopts digital twin technology to create a real–virtual synchronized mapping of the testing process, enabling coordinated control between AI algorithms and a robotic arm. This reduces the testing time for a single sample from 15 minutes to just 3 minutes and improves defective sample detection rates from 85% to 99%. A single unit can replace more than four testing personnel, tackling the issues of low efficiency and subpar accuracy in manual concrete compression testing.
As the first authoritative competition in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area focusing on construction robotics applications, the event attracted over 100 participating teams, providing a platform for showcasing achievements and promoting exchange and cooperation to advance the industry's shift toward intelligent and green development.
