The project includes three 20,000-ton multipurpose berths and a 602-meter-long quay. It has greatly improved the difficult situation of electricity access for the people of Guinea and provided a reliable power supply for the development of Guinea's mining industry.
Kinkon Hydropower Station on Guinea's 50- and 5,000-Franc Notes
The hydropower station was completed in 1966 and was the first hydropower station built in Guinea after its independence. After being renovated and expanded in 2006, its installed capacity reached 3,450 kilowatts, with an average annual power generation of 16 million kilowatt-hours. The station has been safely operating for 59 years and has made significant contributions to the economic and social development of the northern region of Guinea.
Hydraulic Infrastructure Projects on Sudan's 100-Pound Note
Constructed by CWE, this projects includes the Merowe Dam, the Roseires Dam Heightening Project, and the Dam Complex of Upper Atbara Project.
The Merowe Dam is 67 meters high and about 9.7 kilometers long—one of the world's longest dams.
The Roseires Dam Heightening Project is an ancillary project of the hydropower station. After the dam is heightened, it will enhance the power generation capacity of the station and provide reliable water supply for the vast irrigation area at the same time.
The Dam Complex of Upper Atbara Project is approximately 13 kilometers long and has a total installed capacity of 320,000 kilowatts. The completion of this project will provide irrigation water for 7 million people, drinking water for 3 million people, and electricity supply for over a million people.
