The Bridge will facilitate transportation and inject new momentum into Suriname’s economic development.
Recently, the bridge of the Van't Hogerhuysstraat across the Saramacca Canal, was opened to traffic in Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. Surinamese President Chandrikapersad Santokhi and Vice-President Ronnie Brunswijk attended the opening ceremony.
The project is constructed by a consortium of CCCC's subsidiary CRBC and local company Kuldipsingh Infra. Spanning 66 meters, the bridge is a six-lane dual carriageway and is designed to accommodate freight vehicles weighing up to 50 tonnes.
Construction of the bridge began on January 26, 2024, and its completion will greatly facilitate transportation between the northern and southern districts of the capital, and inject new momentum into Suriname's economic development.
