Kenya and Ethiopia leaders visit stadium projects

Recently, Kenyan President William Ruto visited the Talanta Sports City Stadium in Nairobi. Ahead of the 46th CAF Ordinary General Assembly, Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and CAF President Patrice Motsepe visited the construction of the Adey Abeba stadium.
Talanta Sports City Stadium
President Ruto expressed his satisfaction with the progress and quality of the construction. President Ruto emphasized that Talanta Sports City represents Kenya's ambition to become a global sporting powerhouse and a key step in the internationalization of its sports sector. The completion of this project will lay the groundwork for Kenya to co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. The facility is set to become a major landmark in Nairobi.
The project, built to FIFA standards, will feature a 60,000-seat professional football venue. The 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, and the project will serve as the main venue for the opening and closing ceremonies.
Adey Abeba stadium
Prime Minister Abiy praised the project's progress, highlighting that the construction of such a stadium symbolizes more than infrastructure; it reflects societal vitality and progress.
Located in the Bole district of Addis Ababa, the stadium is the largest and first large-scale stadium in Ethiopia with the ability to undertake international sports events, with a capacity of 60,000 seats. Once completed, the stadium will bring new vitality to promoting regional economic and cultural exchanges.
