CCCC wins 2024 ENR Global Best Projects Awards

The projects will further drive local economic and social development.

The 2024 Global Best Project Awards, presented by Engineering News-Record (ENR), honored four projects by CCCC. The awarded projects include: The No 9 and 10 berths at the Dalanping area of the Qinzhou Port – Best Project Award in the airport and port category; the No 9 and 10 berths at the Dalanping area of the Qinzhou Port – Best Project Award in the airport and port category; the Dalian Bay undersea tunnel – Best Project Award in the bridge and tunnel category; the Tianhan Grand Theater in Hanzhong, Shaanxi – Best Project in the cultural and worship category; and the Phase I of the Wenchi Dendi (WD) ecotourism road project, Ethiopia – Best Project in specialty construction category.
Founded in 1874, ENR is one of the most authoritative publications in the global engineering and construction industry. Its awards highlight influential projects worldwide, evaluating them on criteria such as safety, environmental impact, teamwork, innovation, engineering quality, project management, design, aesthetics, and contributions to local communities.
The No 9 and 10 berths at the Dalanping area of the Qinzhou Port- Best Project Award in the airport and port category
This project established two 100,000-ton berths with an annual throughput capacity of 1.61 million TEUs and the capability to accommodate vessels up to 200,000 tons. Designed as China's first U-shaped automated container terminal for sea-rail intermodal transport, the project features full-process intelligent monitoring and digitalized management.
Dalian Bay undersea tunnel- Best Project Award in the bridge and tunnel category
The first large-scale cross-sea immersed tunnel in a high-latitude cold sea area in China, this 5,098-meter-long subsea tunnel implemented several pioneering construction technologies, optimizing Dalian Bay's transportation network and supporting high-quality regional development.
Tianhan Grand Theater in Hanzhong, Shaanxi – Best Project in the cultural and worship category
Covering nearly 70,000 square meters with a maximum height of 23.95 meters, this landmark building includes a large theater, multifunctional studio, and conference center across five above-ground levels and one underground level. Incorporating green design principles such as natural ventilation, water features, and rooftop greenery, it has become a key cultural landmark in Hanzhong City.
Phase I of the Wenchi Dendi (WD) ecotourism road project, Ethiopia – Best Project in specialty construction category
Spanning 31.4 kilometers with two lanes, this scenic road circles Wenchi Crater Lake, connects to Dendi Lake, and includes four viewing platforms. Integrating highland lake tourism, ecotourism, village preservation, and marathon events, the project enhances Ethiopia's tourism infrastructure.
