CCCC attends the IABMAS 2024 conference

The CCCC delegation, comprising renowned bridge experts, engaged in a series of academic and technical exchanges with prominent universities and enterprises from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

Recently, a delegation led by Zhang Xigang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Chief Scientist of CCCC, attended the 2024 conference of the International Association for Bridge Maintenance and Safety (IABMAS) in Copenhagen, Denmark. The delegation, comprising renowned bridge experts, also engaged in a series of academic and technical exchanges with prominent universities and enterprises from Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.
IABMAS is the most influential international academic organization in bridge maintenance, safety, and management, hosting international academic conferences every two years. This year's conference attracted over 700 representatives from more than 50 countries and regions. During the five-day event, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on key topics including bridge maintenance, safety, management, digitization, and sustainable development.
During the conference, following a highly competitive bidding process, the Chinese delegation secured the hosting rights for the conference in 2028.
Additionally, Cui Bing, an expert at Zhang Xigang's team, was awarded the Lin Tongyan Medal, becoming the ninth recipient of this prestigious award globally. The Lin Tongyan Medal is awarded every two years to an expert who has made outstanding contributions to bridge engineering, and it is a highly influential accolade in the international bridge community.
