Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed attends opening ceremony of CCCC BJR Abay River Project in Ethiopia

The bridge will become a new landmark in the Amhara region and significantly boost trade between the southern and northern parts of Ethiopia.

Recently, the BJR Abay River Project in Ethiopia, constructed by CCCC, was officially opened, marking a significant milestone in local infrastructure and economic development. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed attended the opening ceremony.
The bridge is located in the Abay District of Bahir Dar City, situated 3.38 kilometers downstream from Lake Tana, the source of the Blue Nile. The main bridge, spanning the Abay River, features a two-tower, three-span design and stretches 380 meters in length. It is Ethiopia's most technically challenging cable-stayed bridge with the largest main span.
Prime Minister Abiy noted that the bridge will become a new landmark in the Amhara region and significantly boost trade between the southern and northern parts of Ethiopia.
