The groundbreaking ceremony of an oil and gas terminal project and a floating dock project at the port city of Takoradi in Ghana undertaken by China Harbor Engineering Company (CHEC), a CCCC subsidiary, was held recently. Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo attended the ceremony.
President Nana Akufo-Addo delivered a speech at the ceremony, pointing out that these two projects will create new jobs for Ghana, drive economic and social development, and will have a profound and beneficial impact on the entire Takoradi and Western provinces in Ghana. He also wished the project a smooth start.
The oil and gas services terminal project of Takoradi Port mainly includes a 550-meter terminal, harbor basin dredging, land backfill, storage yard and supporting facilities. The floating dock project includes a 200-meter finger pier, dredging, land backfill, storage yard and supporting facilities. After the completion of the two projects, the projects will greatly improve the status quo of Takoradi Port and promote Takoradi Port to become the main economic growth pole of Ghana.
