Timor-Leste's President and Prime Minister attend opening ceremony of Tibar Bay Port

Recently, the opening ceremony of Timor-Leste's ibar Bay Port, constructed by CHEC, a subsidiary of CCCC, was held. José Ramos-Horta, President of Timor-Leste attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Taur Matan Ruak, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, José Agustinho da Silva, Minister of Transport and Communication, and Xiao Jianguo, Chinese Ambassador to Timor-Leste attended the ceremony.

Representatives of the Timor-Leste government and the owner spoke highly of construction quality and execution of CHEC. Timor-Leste News Agency and other media made a special report on the event.
Tibar Bay Port's terminal project is the largest PPP project in Timor-Leste since its founding. The project consists of a new 630-meter terminal including a 7,000-TEU and a 3,500 TEU berth, 3.5 million-cubic-meters of dredging, 27 hectares of reclaimed land and related housing construction, storage yards and other supporting facilities. The maximum annual cargo throughput of the terminal can reach 1 million containers. After full operation, it will become the only logistics center for Timor-Leste's maritime freight transport and trade, which will greatly promote the economic development of Timor-Leste.
