Recently, the 2022 China Green Low Carbon Innovation Conference under the theme "Science and Technology Innovation, Green Low Carbon", was opened in Huzhou, Zhejiang Province. Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of CCCC and Chairman of CCCC Association for Science and Technology, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech at the seminar on "Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains are Invaluable Assets".
Wang Tongzhou said that CCCC is committed to building a strategic layout for green and low-carbon development, and insisting on green empowerment and promoting the two-way development of traditional and new industries. CCCC insists on leading in science and technology and promote the research of cutting-edge technologies and the formulation of standards and norms. It insists on providing Chinese solutions for global green and low-carbon development to the world. CCCC will support the building of a world-class enterprise with global competitiveness in technology, management and quality with green and low-carbon transformation, so as to inject powerful momentum to achieve high-quality development.
Wang Tongzhou stressed that as we are marching toward the 14th Five-Year Plan, green and low-carbon development is entering a critical stage, and CCCC, as the main force of China's transportation infrastructure construction, will accurately grasp the "green direction" and comprehensively develop "green industry", and speed up in the new technological revolution. CCCC is willing to work with all parties to seize the opportunities of green and low-carbon development, tackle the risks and challenges, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and contribute to the peaking carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and striving to achieve carbon neutralization by 2060.
Elizabeth Mulema, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity delivered a speech at the conference via video link. The conference also witnessed the inauguration of the "Innovation China" Green Low Carbon Innovation Consortium.
The conference was hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government. More than 260 people, including 60 academicians, representatives of international scientific organizations and renowned universities as well as entrepreneurs attended the conference.
