Cameroon's Kribi-Lolabe Highway opened to traffic

Recently, the inauguration ceremony of the Kribi-Lolabe Highway was held at the MBEKA'A toll station.

Recently, the inauguration ceremony of the Kribi-Lolabe Highway, which was constructed and operated by CHEC, a subsidiary of CCCC, was held at the MBEKA'A toll station, marking the first expressway in Cameroon designed and built with Chinese standards is officially put into operation.

The highway is located in the coastal areas of southwest Cameroon, connecting Kribi and the Kribi Deep Seaport. The total length of the highway is about 38.5 km, and it is a six-lane road with a design speed of 110 km/h. The construction officially started in December 2014 and was completed in September 2021. The project will be operated and maintained by CHEC, and the contract period is 30 years.
More than 400 government dignitaries attended the opening ceremony, including Cameroon's Minister of Public Works Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, Minister of Finance Louis Paul Motaze, Minister Delegate in the Ministry of Transport Njoya Zakariaou and the Secretary of State in charge of Roads Armand Ndjodom. Cameroon's media outlets such as Cameroon Radio Television, Canal2 International, Cameroon Tribune, Cameroon News Agency and Chinese media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency and CCTV News covered the event.
