Recently, Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta commissioned the SGR-MGR Passenger Rail Link at the Maai Mahiu Station, marking the official operation of the MGR Passenger Rail Link project at MaaiMahiu Station, and the SGR-MGR Link in Naivasha ICD.
Kenyatta praised the CCCC project team for overcoming difficulties and completing the construction of the two projects successfully. He pointed out that the two projects have provided convenience for local people's travel and facilitate logistics connectivity in the region.
The delivery and operation of the two projects have opened up new channels for the Nariobi-Malaba Railway and the Naivasha-Malaba MGR, which has further improved the convenience, safety, and economy of local people's travel and logistics distribution, and promoted the rapid economic developmentalong the line.
The Naivasha-Malaba MGR project includes the new the SGR-MGR Link in Naivasha ICD, as well as the restoration and reconstruction project of the old MGR. The MGR Passenger Rail Link at Maai Mahiu Station, with a total length of about 4.65 kilometers, connects the Nariobi-MalabaSGR and the Naivasha-Malaba MGR.
