On April 21, People's Daily published a signed article titled "Giving full play to the role of state-owned enterprises as pillars in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port" by Wang Tongzhou, Chairman of CCCC. The article pointed out that it is the best time for CCCC, as the main force in the global infrastructure industry, to seize the opportunity of building the Hainan Free Trade Port and join the wave of China's high-level opening-up to the world, and to make accomplishments and serve the country. 

Since the mid-20th century, CCCC has been building important "bones" for the growth and development of China's youngest province by building bridges, roads, ports and cities with the CCCC's efforts. In recent years, CCCC has invested in more than 800 construction projects in Hainan, with a contract value of more than 110 billion yuan. A number of key projects, such as the Haiwen Bridge, the coastal tourist highway, the Sanya tram, have created a number of provincial and national records. Looking to the future, CCCC will continue to serve the major national strategies, fulfill its social responsibility as a central enterprise, and help make Hainan free trade port a beautiful business card to showcase China's image.

CCCC will give full play to its advantages in the whole industry chain and integrated services in transportation infrastructure and solidly promote the construction of the new airport in Sanya, the "田"-shaped high-speed rail, the Yangpu Port expansion project and other projects. With a wider scope, more areas, and higher levels, CCCC will participate in the planning and construction of the transportation system of the Hainan Free Trade Port, the digital upgrade of traditional transportation infrastructure, the construction of smart roads, modern maintenance, intelligent terminals, digital waterways, and smart airports, to create a smart, low-carbon, sea-crosing, and sea-land-air transportation network connecting every corner in the world.

CCCC will fully rely on its own industrial advantages, target the construction of the international tourism consumption center, well promote the tourist highway stations in Hainan to create a tourism model with Hainan characteristics; it will integrate stock resources, introduce camping, amusement parks, hotels, commercials centers, and retirement industry to operate more high-quality vacation and retirement services; it will bring in the 77,000-ton luxury cruise ship, open the sea route to Sansha, and vigorously develop cruise tourism, so as to help Hainan establish a distinctive marine tourism industry cluster.

CCCC will play its advantages in ecological restoration, water pollution treatment, pollution prevention and control, efficiently promote urban renewal, ecological restoration, landscape enhancement, sewage treatment and other projects, continuously improve the living environment, comprehensively improve the quality of the city, create a low-carbon livable city, and jointly take care of the beatiful environment of the Hainan Free Trade Port, and jointly make Hainan truly a four seasons garden of the Chinese nation.
