On March 26, the opening ceremony of the Foundiougne Bridge, operated by CCCC's subsidiary CRBC, was held in Foundiougne, the Fatick Region of Senegal. Macky Sall, Senegalese President attended the ceremony.
President Sall gave a thumbs-up for the convenient and efficient service of the toll station on the bridge. In his speech at the ceremony, he said the Foundiougne Bridge has reduced the travel time and cost from Senegal to neighboring countries. He also thanked China for its support for many infrastructure projects in Senegal.
Located in Foundiougne, the bridge, with a total length of 1,600 meters, is the longest of the kind in Senegal. It has become one of the main roads connecting the north and south of Senegal and is also an important transportation node to neighboring countries. This project is one of the major priority projects of the Senegal's revitalization plan, and it is also a concrete manifestation of China's active implementation of the ten China-Africa cooperation plans.
CRBC started the expressway operation services in Senegal in 2019. With its high-quality service, efficient safety guarantee, and outstanding business performance, it has won the recognition of the competent authorities in Senegal and of the industry, and won the 10-year operation and management right of the bridge in February 2021. At present, the bridge toll collection, maintenance, monitoring and emergency rescue equipment all adopt Chinese standards and the project realized 100% localized management. During the trial operation, all related-work was stable and orderly, with smooth operation connection, ensuring the safe and smooth operation of the bridge.
